The Place of Home

A house that was a beach
desert; that neither house was;
only; a place
where the fire was lit, and around
sat joy; and heated
the hands; and left because he had
a destination; simple thing
and little, but destination:

grow like a tree, resist
the wind, the rigors of winter injury,
and one morning feeling steps
Of april
or, who knows ?, flowering
the branches that seemed
dry, and again shake
with the sudden corner of lark."Eugénio de Andrade"o sal da língua
